Friday Question: Entertainment in this economy?

Question: What the f*@#?!?  Given the suckiness of the economy, what is the *last thing*you would cut from your entertainment budget?  I.e. the thing you’d only give up paying for after you stopped paying for all other entertainment stuff.

Y) Netflix.  100%.  I got streaming movies/TV, I got DVD’s coming to me on a regular basis.  Cable and videogames, I could actually survive without.  Shows I can catch up on, and videogames I can wait the economy out.

LD) Boy, that’s a fantastic answer, Y.  I’m going to cut a little closer to the bone, and say Internet.  So long as I have hulu, the network websites, and google books, I have the entire world at my fingertips.  Take away comic books, Netflix, book buying, dvds, cable, whatever you want.  Having internet access (and i’m getting FIOS!) will make up for all of that.

N8) I should have answered faster — damn.  Internet and Netflix are great calls…

JC) Internet. How else would I speak to you fine fuckers?  The Internet is so engrained in my daily life I often cannot feel settled without it. 
I could watch tv, play games, even borrow a movie of two on the  Internet, but I truly cannot imagine life without it.

I’d say, uhhh…uhhhh…internet? I mean honestly is there anyone who’s not going to say internet? Cell phone is close. 
I  also wouldn’t buy a new computer every year and a half which has been my habit since college.

N8) Audio-books.  I concede that “internet” is the king of responses, though the Netflix call is up there as well (not as high in my view since you can get movie/video from other places if you have internet.  That point conceded, I would keep one of my audiobook subscriptions, either Audible or just a la carte from Amazon.  I’d have to get them through the internet, of course, but I’d rather have audiobooks than TV or movies.  There, I said it, to no one’s surprise.

Grimbil) Strippers. And by strippers I mean the Internet.

SN) Booze. Everyone else already took the Internet. I can the get the Internet for free at the library, but they do not give out alcohol for free.

LD) Unless you’re an attractive female.

Y) And SN comes through with the sleeper pick of the century.

SN) LD, I guess that explains why all the hot chicks at the library are always wasted.
